Privacy Blur for WhatsApp ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our browser extension.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not do:

• We do not read, access, or store your WhatsApp messages
• We do not collect your contact information or chat history
• We do not track your browsing activity
• We do not use analytics or tracking tools
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties

Data Stored Locally

The Extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

• User preferences: Your blur settings (on/off toggles, blur intensity level)
• Subscription status: Whether you have upgraded to Pro (stored as a simple true/false value)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Permissions Used

The Extension requires the following permissions:

• Storage: To save your preferences locally on your device
• Tabs: To enable the auto-close feature that closes the WhatsApp tab after inactivity
• Host permission (web.whatsapp.com): To apply blur effects on WhatsApp Web interface
• Host permission (extensionpay.com): To process Pro subscription payments securely

Third-Party Services

The Extension uses ExtensionPay to process payments for the Pro version. When you choose to upgrade, you will interact directly with ExtensionPay's secure payment system. Please refer to ExtensionPay's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle payment data.

We do not receive or store your payment details (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.).

How the Extension Works

The Extension operates entirely within your browser:

• It injects CSS styles to blur visual elements on WhatsApp Web
• It removes the blur effect when you hover over elements
• All processing happens locally in your browser
• No data is sent to external servers (except for payment processing when upgrading to Pro)

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
